Cameroonian super-middleweight Sakio Bika says he is not intimidated of the thought of facing double world champion Joe Calzaghe in October in Manchester.
Bika, who stunned boxing fans lately against WBC Champion Markus Beyer in Germany, has lived to tell the tale of a scorpion bite he got as a child and says after that, nothing scares him. “Calzaghe’s a great fighter but one scorpion bite is more painful than a billion punches from him,” he claims. “You can’t get closer to death than I did so why should I worry about him?” Bika, who is 27 years old, is based in Australia now days and has only lost once in 23 professional fights.
His fight against Beyer back in May was called to a halt when the German sustained a cut under his eye which was caused by an accidental head butt. Bika said that having come so close in his first world title bout; he would not ‘fall short this time’: “I’m not scared to travel and fight an opponent in their own backyard to achieve my dream of becoming world champion,”
Is Sakio Bika bluffing or do you really think he believes he can take Calzaghe? And if so, can he really beat the Welshman? Please leave your own thoughts at the bottom of the page.
