One of our readers recently made a boxing documentary and so we have decided to publish on Boxing Daily for other readers to watch and enjoy as the team here has done.
Here’s a bit about the film, from the viewpoint of its maker:
The Art of Boxing is an informative Documentary based on Amateur boxing. The Pro’s and Cons of the sport in general, but also information for the younger generation, targeting youngsters of the 20th century, boxing is the number 1 sport for discipline and confidence building.
I’m a huge boxing fan, so that was the primary reason for me to make this documentary, but I’ve also been aware of the increase in youngsters on the streets, hustling and going nowhere, so I thought I’d use boxing to pinpoint the matter and try and help, I was backed by Amir Khan who appears in the film, who was very happy to say a few words and pose for the camera, as he constantly sends the ‘get off the streets and into the ring’ message to the kids of today.
Primarily I made this documentary for a college assignment, but due to various positive criticisms and attention I’ve gained through making it, It’s more than just another project, It meant something to local people who saw it, a high percentage of children and some adults joined there local boxing gym, and are now much fitter, much more confident and in effect, much happier.
Since the filming of the documentary, I’ve had various Boxing promoters hire me to film live boxing events, and I have now set up my own productions company (FND productions) I make all kinds of documentaries, films, Weddings, Live events, Adverts etc.
