April 13th was the date confirmed yesterday that the boxing rematch between Chris Edwards from Stoke and Dale Robinson of Huddersfield would take place on.
Robinson will challenge for the British Flyweight title at the Altringham Leisure Centre.
These two boxers met at Kings Hall in Stoke in November to challenge each other for the vacant English Flyweight title. Robinson entered to boxing ring as the firm favourite in November but Edwards stopped the favourite inside the distance for the first time in Robinson’s career.
Certainly on paper Robinson looks the better boxer with 19 wins (9 by KO) 1 draw and only 3 losses compared with Edwards 10 wins (3 KO) 2 draws and 12 defeats.
However Edwards seems to be improving lately and with his recent defeat over Robinson he is certainly a boxer in form.
Edwards said: “I think Dale Robinson will be up for it more this time but so will I. I will be training harder than ever for this one. I’ve been waiting a long time for a shot at the British title for a long time and it’s the pinnacle of my career so I’m not going to take it lightly.”
“I have a lot of respect for Dale and he gave me a tough fight last time so I expect even more from him in April. I will make him work hard as well and I am quietly confident that I can beat him again. I won’t be such a shock this time though!”
