Ricky Burns lost on points to the defending British super featherweight champion, Carl Johanneson on Friday.
Carl Johanneson was able to floor Burns three times in their fight in Leeds for a 116-110 118-109 117-110 victory.
With a menacing left hook, Johanneson sent Burns to the canvas in round 7 and some awesome body shots made him fall again in the ninth and tenth rounds.
After the fight, Johanneson turned his sights on to the former European, Commonwealth and British champion Alex Arthur. Arthur is set to fight Russian Alexander Hrulev for the vacant WBO Intercontinental title on 10 March.
Carl Johanneson said: “I definitely want to fight Arthur next and I think that performance proved I am ready for him.
“I felt good in there and now I am ready for bigger things.”
So what did you think of this fight?
What is the next step for Carl Johanneson?
