WBO and IBF super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe wants Clinton Woods’ opponent Glen Johnson to beat him in their IBF light heavyweight title bout in order to set up a very profitable fight.
Calzaghe has come to a “provisional agreement” to fight Johnson if he wins, although there has also been some interest from the Woods camp in a possible meeting. “Woods would be a good fight but it wouldn’t mean much worldwide.” said Calzaghe. Woods’ promoter, Dennis Hobson said he had presented Calzaghe £1.5m to move up to light heavyweight and fight Woods.
Calzaghe believes the Woods v Johnson bout on Saturday is to be a “50-50 fight”. Calzaghe, who is undefeated in 41 fights, is to return to action against Sakio Bika in October this year after an injury to his hand.

I’d love to see Johnson and Woods get it on. It would be an action fight and a great payday for the deserving Johnson. I expect Calzaghe to have a tougher than expected time of it with Sakio Bika in October.

Personaly I think Woods is by far the better boxer and he deserved his victory. I also think Calzaghe can beat Sakio Bika if he fights how he did in his previous fight!
