After Palvik disposed of the Welshman on Saturday Night in Atlantic city, it seems that a fight between Calzaghe and Kelly Palvik is very likely. Palvik’s promoter Bob Arum and Frank Warren have started negotiations about a fight between the two aimed to make a fight on the 18th October, with Wales, Atlantic City, New York, and Las Vegas all possible sites for this fight. Although Warren said “Everybody needs to understand that Joe is the number one fighter in the world. It’s his decision on who he wants to fight and where he wants to fight”. This does not seem to have affected the negotiation’s with Arum though.
Lockett went to his knee’s 3 times in this short fight, and the white towel was thrown into the ring by his trainer Enzo Calzaghe as a surrender. CompuBox statistics says that Plavik landed 92 of 214 punches, compared to 32 landed of 89 from Lockett. Maybe it was because of Lockett’s efforts to ward off Palvik’s sharp hooks and heaving body shots. Because of this Lockett had to drop to one knee twice in the second round trying to regain composure. Palvik said “He did a wise thing by taking those knees when he did. He saved himself from a real beating. He really could have gotten hurt”. Blood was coming out of one nostril and bruises were forming in the third round when it was ended 1minute 40 seconds into the round.
After his horrific beating Lockett by the Ohio WBC/WBO champion Palvik, Lockett did not appear for the post fight press conference.
Who do you think Calzaghe should fight next?
What happened to the Roy Jones fight?!

FAGZAGHE should fight Roy Jones first.
