Calzaghe’s Schedule Set in Stone

Joe Calzaghe’s promoter, Frank Warren, plans to publicize a “big fight” for the super middleweight world champion some time in the up coming week. The bout is most likely to be in Cardiff next February; with Warren hoping he can secure an American challenger.

Calzaghe\'s Schedule Set in Stone

If the Great Welshman triumphs, Warren claims a “mega fight” will follow in the summer, which is most likely to be in opposition to Jermain Taylor, 28, over in the States. This news may ruin the instant hopes of Denmark’s WBC & WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler who is desperate for a unification bout with Wales’ WBO & IBF legend.

Another undefeated champion, WBC & WBO middleweight belt-holder, is Jermain Taylor; who also holds two victories over, the once amazing, Bernard Hopkins. Calzaghe met Taylor’s promoter Lou Di Bella earlier this week on a trip to the US, where he made quite an impression on the American press. But, personally, I think Calzaghe has real potential and ability to beat both Kessler and Taylor whether it is here or over in the States.

Have at look at Joe in action against Branco Sabot:

  2. Wes why dont you actually watch Calzaghe fight before talking rubbish. Lacy is a bigger puncher than Kessler, but Calzaghe run rings round him and totally outboxed him without even bruising or bleeding over twelve rounds, knocking him down in the twelth and seriously messing his face up. You really need to watch some boxing, calzaghe has a DVD out you should watch, then come back and talk trash.

Lacy was garbage… SLOW with some POWER… boo… talk about something else… did you see the MANFREDO FIGHT…. manfredo laughed at Calzaghe’s power… all he did was slap…. funny fight… it was a disgrace to boxing, but funny…. calzaghe is a little bitch… Frank Warren is a little bitch…

  4. manfredo was overwhelmed. it’s a ref’s job to stop the fight if it’s all one way traffic, those punches may look like slaps to you and me but trust me.. they’re happening to fast the other guy is feeling it

  5. this ‘wes’ fella- clearly doesnt understand boxing. I’ll endevour to explain it to him: it lasts twelve rounds and involves using skills to a) hit the opponent, and b) avoid being hit
This is what calzaghe achieved in overwhelming majority of his fights

PS: was Lacy not touted as the next big thing in american boxing - who was supposed to knock Joe ou?

Lets face facts the american boxing circuit is a sham, Hatton WILL knock Mayweather out
Calzaghe would knock out any american in his wieght if they were willing to step up
    PERIOD
