The IBF Pan Pacific Light Heavyweight boxing champion, Danny Green, managed to defeat the durable Paul Murdoch in just two rounds the other night in Melbourne.
Green claimed victory in front of three thousand fans in Melbourne, Australian at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
This victory enables Green to have a clear path to challenge whoever wins the WBA boxing contest between currently champion Silvio Branco and the current number one contendeder Stipe Drews in Germany.
However Green may also be tempted to have a rematch with his domestic arch enemy and boxing rival Anthony Mudine, who beat Green in a points decision in a WBA Super Middleweight title eliminator last May.
However Mudine must first force his way past another of his rivals, Sam Soliman, in a boxing contest for the currently vacant WBA 168lb title in Sydney.
Clearly in top gear, Green decked Murdoch in round one with just a single double jab which caught the PABA titlist completely ogg guard. Although Murdoch beat the count, it was just 65 second into round two when Green connected with a powerful left hook to send Murdoch to the canvas.
What did you think of Green’s victory over Murdoch and his currently future as a professional boxer?
Can he be a world boxing champion? His currently record is 23-3 (21).
