Dinosaurs RJJ and Trinidad Return To The Ring, Give It Up Guys!

Thanks to Michael Jordan, every sports star seem to want to make a “comeback”. Actually I think this stems back to Muhammad Ali who made the original “greatest comeback”.

Dinosaurs RJJ and Trinidad Return

But the fact is that Ali didn’t intentionally retire, he was forced to stop boxing. Show offs like Mayweather come out with utter rubbish about retirement so they can claim that they are making some magnificent comeback. This are fakes. Just retire when you want to retire, but don’t announce that you are going to retire just to raise PPV sales because its annoying boxing fans like myself!

This “comeback” by Roy Jones Junior and Felix Trinidad is another example of this. Both of these boxers are losers in the last few fight they had.

Roy Jones Jr could have gone down in boxing history as a King but that steroid scandal has ruined any chance he ever had of making my best of the best list.

Trinidad made a name for himself by beating Oscar De La Hoya. Well done. Anything else? Ali has achieved as much as Trinidad by the time he was 23.

The point is although these boxers are good, they are not great so they should stop going on these fake comebacks claiming to be someone of the calibre of MJ or Ali.

But hey, that’s just my opinion.

What do you think?

Would you say these boxer are good, great or fake?

Where are the real boxers?

Lets cut the posers and the TV PPV promotion hype and get back to boxing.

  1. HAHA I won’t even really comment on the steroid subject. I’ll just say this, IF it was ANYTHING more than the NASEL spray that contained a very small amount of steroids. I’m sure it would have BEEN A REALLY (REALLY) big deal, especially with the scandals in BASEBALL and the steroid use here in the U.S. If Jones had been shooting up (WHICH HE DIDN’T or ever has) it would have been all over and he probably wouldn’t have been able to box ever again. When it comes to TRINIDAD he was great. I don’t know why he would come back after all these years. For RJJ it’s not a COMBACK fight. He’s already done that, twice. Like I have said many of times he has one good fight in him. I say he uses that and beats the bitch of boxing LITTLE JOE CALZAGHE. LIL JC has never been as FAST or AS POWERFUL as RJJ. EVEN now after RJJ has fallen off and has a SUPER GLASS chin he couldn’t KO Jones. Anyway. This is a made for PPV fight that was meant for hype. This is not for boxing; it’s all just for the money. But I will still watch it.

  3. I have and always will be a Roy Jones, Jr. fan. However, I saw the 1st Antonio Tarver fight and although Roy won, I told my best friend that Roy would not be the same fighter because Roy literally let Tarver pulverize him in the head on the ropes. It was THOSE head shots that contributed to his subsequent head trauma that was sustained at the hands of Tarver and Johnson (not steroids as some believe). I don’t think that either of those punches would have KO’d any other decent light heavyweight. I saw Roy’s most recent fight (3rd row seats) in Biloxi, MS and he is still overly cautious, he has resorted to laying on the ropes and fighting off of them. This strategy will work against smaller fighters like Anthony Hanshaw, and probably Tito too, but at this point in his career, he will never beat a Tarver, and I hate Tarver! As for Tito, he would have gotten the snot kicked out of him if he would have EVER approached Roy for a title shot in Roy’s prime. But I, like the previous comment, WILL watch the fight. I saw Ali fight Frazier in their 3rd fight, the Thrilla in Manilla, and although they were both well past their primes, it was the hardest and most intriguing fight of their trilogy.
