The European super-bantamweight title holder, Bernard Dunne, is set to defend his title against Yersin Jailauov of Kazakhstan on 25 March at the Point Depot in Dublin.
So far, Dunne has had a pretty good boxing career, winning all 22 of his boxing bouts so far. His most impressive performance came when he beat Esham Pickering last November to win the European super-bantamweight title.
Last year, Yersin Jailauov lost by a stoppage in round two against the former European Champ Michael Hunter. Personally, I unfortunately did not get to see this bout, but people I knew where there and many of them were uneasy about the decision, believing that the fight was stopped too early.
According to Dunne’s promoter, Bernard Dunne will fight four times this year, defending his European title before moving up to challenge for a world title belt.
“Bernard has the class to fight for a world title now but I want him to be a more seasoned 12-round fighter and then we go for the big one.”
What do you think the outcome will be of Dunne vs. Jailauov fight?
