If you are looking for some cheap work out mitts for boxing, these might be the thing for you.
These are Lonsdale’s Fingerless T9 Gym Mitts and work well for boxing.
They are very durable and hard wearing for such a low price of £16.99.
As they are only about £16.99 online you expect them to be made of some cheap plastic but there are not. They are made completely with hide leather, so the boxing gloves do have some quality in them and the leather means that they will last longer, look better and generally feel better when you are using them.
The best part about the fingerless aspect of the gloves is that you can get a fair bit of air to you hands when you are boxing. It also gives you the freedom the move your fingers in between rounds to stretch out the muscles that you have just been working so hard on the bag.
Of course these mitts can only be used for bag work, not boxing practice nor sparring. This is because they are simply the wrong shape and obviously they are fingerless which means that you could poke someone’s eye out if you used these in the boxing ring.
But for bag work and bag work alone, these are quite a good buy. They are cheaper then most proper bag mitts. Some may argue that they are not the correct boxing shape and type and so you are not getting used to the feel of boxing gloves when you practice. This is of course totally correct, but they are still great for getting up your fitness and would be good for things like boxercise programs.
Boxing Daily Rating: 8/10 – Good for bag work and fitness, but can’t match up to proper bag mitts for the reality of boxing.
