Floyd Mayweather to go into MMA?

There has been talk recently of pound for pound boxing champion Floyd Mayweather going into a MMA fight.

Floyd Mayweather to go into MMA?

As boxing fans we want to hear from you, what do you think about this? Should Floyd Mayweather do it?

Floyd Mayweather has a perfect record in boxing, and the team here thinks he should retire with that. Mayweather has fought everyone he has been asked to fight, and beaten them all.

Floyd Mayweather has not dodged the big fights like Joe Calzaghe has, and so he is going down in boxing history as one of the greats. Therefore we don’t understand why he now feels the need to prove himself in MMA.

I guess its another $20 million in the bank, but he doesn’t need the money! Even if he did, or wanted it anyway, Floyd Mayweather could bag $20m in another boxing fight, without going into MMA.

We want you views on this.

  1. First of all Joe Calzaghe, hasnt dodged anyone, they all dodged him. people forget that its easy for american fighters to say that when they already live in the boxing capital of the world, all they have to do is turn up for a fight and most of the time they have a massive fan base in the crowd. Joe calzaghe is undefeated, so in my eyes people should be crossing the big pond for him aswell. what will it take for people to see the quality of fighter that he is. Secondly floyd mayweather is a phenominal fighter but would be crazy to go into MMA. he would need at least 2 years solid training in submissions and groundwork before he would even stand a chance. he would always have a chance of a lucky punch but at the same time could you imagine if he were to get ground and pounded through lack of mma training or through not geling with the sport, his legacy would be shattered for ever. If on the other hand he could train up and become good at MMA (extremely doubtful due to age and lack of wrestling background)Then fairplay Id love to watch him, even though he is an arrogant little prick

  2. Personaly i think it would be the biggest mistake of his life. For starters he would have to have about a year of training to pick up the takedowns he would have to learn to block the kicks and lots more. Why dose he need to leave boxing he has a great record of 39-0 25 knockouts he would loose all that in the MMA i could`nt even see him winning.

  3. I like MONEY MAY, but IF he dont fight COTTO. I’ll be pissed. That would be the FIGHT of the centry it will make the Hopkins vs Calzaghe fight look childish! Mayweather needs to fight Cotto or else I would say he dodged that fight. (the only fight).

    Mayweather beats Cotto
    Hopkins beats Calzaghe
