30-year-old Gomez is challenging Amir Khan for his commonwealth title.
“People have been saying I’m finished for the last 10 years,” said Gomez.
“But a big fight like this is what I need, I will shock everybody. I fought Alex Arthur (in 2003), who was an unbeaten prospect, and destroyed him.”
With 8 losses out of 30 fights, Gomez will be releasing a film about his life in November.
