Four time world champion boxer Evander Holyfield has announced that the next fight in his extraordinary comeback will be against Puerto Rico’s Fres Oquendo in San Antonio on the10th November; later on this year. Holyfield is hoping that if he wins it will help him on his way towards an exceptional fifth world title.
“I want to reach my goal. And that goal is to become a world champion one more times.” said the 43-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. He carried on by saying “When I do, I’ll sit down. Until then, I’m going to be in the battlefield.” Holyfield began his comeback last month with a second-round knockout of journeyman Jeremy Bates in Dallas. Holyfield has had 49 professional bouts that consist of 2 draws, 8 losses and 39 wins; of which 26 came by way of knockout.
In his career Holyfield came across some great opponents such as Mike Tyson, George Forman, Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis. So this should be a relatively easy fight for him, but has his age has finally caught up with him!?
Do you think the man, who once had his ear gnawed by Mike Tyson, will win this fight or is it really time for ‘The Real Deal’ to hang up his gloves once and for all?
