The current British lightweight champion, Jon Thaxton, has said that he believes he would beat Amir Khan in a fight for the domestic title, in other words Khan is apparently not ready.
“If Amir fights me, he won’t beat me,” said Thaxton, who has his first defence against Scott Lawton on 16 March.
“I would take him out late or I might stop him earlier with a body punch.
“Experience is important, and I have plenty of that. I would use it all and it would be too much for him. We don’t know yet if he can take a shot.”
This is very true. We have yet to see if Amir Khan can take a shot, and many off his opponents so far have been unable to get close enough to landing a hard punch on Khan, before they were hit by his lightening fast hands.
Amir Khan is set to fight Steffy Bull next but how long will it be before he challenges for the British title?
It is possible that Khan may simply miss out the domestic boxing title totally and go straight for the world titles as soon as he can.
What do you think?

amir khan you will win this fight what ever
