Joe Calzaghe has done very well to remain undefeated all this time and indeed he did well to go over to Las Vegas and beat Bernard Hopkins.
However there is talk of Joe Calzaghe being the great boxer ever….
Um… No!
Sorry guys but you can’t even begin to make those comparisons. I don’t mean to take anything away from Joe Calzaghe and his career, but there is no way that he is anywhere near the greatest boxer ever. Are we supposed to rank Calzaghe higher than the likes of Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson? I don’ think so!
Sure Calzaghe has had a decent career, but he does not deserve to be associated with the term “great”.
Even if we just take British boxers, I would rank Hatton higher and looking back surely the boxers like Henry Cooper are leagues ahead of Calzaghe. For those boxing fans who don’t look back to boxing history, Henry Cooper landed a stunning left hook right on the chin of Muhammad Ali and was subsequently robbed of the KO decision….but that’s another story!
But what do you make of Calzaghe?
Is he the greatest boxer ever?
Or even the greatest British boxer?

hahaha! I needed a good laugh.

Im not saying Henry Cooper was the best boxer ever, I am simply saying that IMHO even Cooper is better than Calzaghe!
