Kessler’s Still Unbeaten

WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler won last night by way of knockout over WBC champ Markus Beyer to unify both titles.

Kesslers Still Unbeaten

Kessler, from Denmark, put his veteran German opponent on the floor with a straight right to the chin with two seconds let in the third round in Copenhagen; he now has a record of 38 wins in 38 fights. 27-year-old Kessler will is now hoping for a unification fight against WBO and IBF champion Joe Calzaghe. “I’ll be ready for you, Calzaghe,” Kessler claimed looking and pointing his finger into a television camera after the win.

Although it was not the Welshman’s best fight last night I still believe he has what it takes to beat Kessler and to become the unified super middleweight champion of the world.

Please leave your thoughts on Kessler’s bout, Calzaghe’s bout and who you think would win between the two of them.

  1. first of all, id like to say joe calzaghe is past his prime, kessler is 5-6 younger and in his prime. however im a big calzaghe fan and the guy is a warrior, his fast and has alot more work rate and stamina then kessler, if the fight goes all the way he will win on points. kessler is good fighter but who has he really thought thats good enough? all his opponents are bums..he hasnt thought any one in same caliber as eubank … mitchell.. or lacy before. cmon JOE

  2. I agree, Joe is well past his prime.
However can he put in one last great performance agaisnt a great fighter like Kessler in order to show everone that he is still the dominant super middleweight?

  4. All respect for Calzaghes career; he has the routine. Kessler hits harder, is faster. About the stamina: look on the last two respective fights.. I think Kessler is the future Champ

  5. Kessler is faster than Calzaghe?……..and has better stamina?……..have you seen Calzaghe fight before? I would like to see Lacy fight Kessler first and see if Kessler gives him the same hammering Calzaghe gave the 23 year old. All doubters will be silenced in the end as Calzaghe is arguably pound for pound the most skillful boxer around. Kessler hasn’t fought anyone in the league of Eubank or Lacy yet, and should wait his turn.

  6. Dude is that all you got… your always lacy this lacy that… lacy is garbage… CALZAGHE is garbage…. Kessler has power speed and would kill ya boy… LACY IS DONE he should have never been, actually he needs a lot of work and help before he will be anyone great… so ya boy beat lacy.. He also beat Manfredo… lol with slaps… I tell you now… there won’t be any slaps when it comes time for Calzaghe to step in the ring with a REAL fighter… Hopkins, Taylor, even Kessler. Anyone of them, Shit I wouldn’t mind seeing him get his ASS F***** UP BY WINKY WRIGHT…. If Calzaghe would ever step in the ring with a REAL FIGHTER in AMERICA there won’t be any REF stopping any fight from some little slaps… or “PIDDLE PATS”!

  7. Cazaghe?… best pound for pound?… get the hell out of here…. the man has done nothing! Yeah he’s fast… with a bunch of bitch slaps… I bet he wont be able to bitch slap Hopkins!… wont bitch slap Winky Wright, wont bitch slap even Kessler. I have watched boxing for a long time and I can’t believe ANYONE can even say he has ANY talent OTHER than SPEED… NO POWER. Nothing… like I have said before HE IS A WANNA-BE ROY JONES JR… But with OUT the POWER, NONE WHAT SO EVER…. everyone needs to forget him… he’s not going into any HALL OF FAME… dudes a joke… he’s over and WELL PAST HIS SO CALLED PRIME…the thing is….he was a never has been….well ok, for 12 rounds he beat ONE man… Jeff lacy.. That’s it… and you don’t make it into the HALL OF FAME for that my friends…
