Khan Eyes World Glory

Amir Khan is due to take on Ryan Barrett this Saturday at the Bolton Arena. It will be his ninth professional bout and his last over six rounds. Khan says he hopes to make quick progress from here - and fight for a world title before too long.

Khan Eyes World Glory

“I have fought boxers at a much higher level than most people so with little experience, so I think I will be challenging for a world title around my 20th fight,” he told the Bolton Evening News. “Then it will be a case of defending it and trying to get some unification titles.” Khan will fight Barrett on the under card of Clinton Woods’ IBF light-heavyweight title defence against Glen Johnson.

Amir Khan’s opponents always get a lot of examination - even Ryan Barrett, with a highly respectable 12-2-1 record has raised a few eyebrows as to his suitability as Khan’s ninth professional opponent. But looking at Kahn’s previous bouts I think he should be able to win this quite comfortably as long as he keeps his hands up and tries not to be too cocky.

Who do you think will win out of Khan and Barrett? And do you really think it’s possible for Khan to will a Championship belt before the end of the year?
