Speedy Amir Khan thrilled his hometown crowd in Bolton with an extraordinary win over Ryan Barrett inside two minutes on Saturday night. The 19-year-old put Barrett to the floor with a spectacular straight right after just one minute.
The Thamesmead fighter was put on his bum two more times before the referee was certain that the bout needed to be stopped after just one minute and fifty-one seconds meaning Khan won has now won his ninth professional fight. “I was up for six rounds,” said Khan. “Ryan is fit and strong and he’s ranked a lot higher than me so it went well for me.” The super strong Khan then added: “He’s only lost two out of 15. All the critics out there saying Amir’s not getting the right fights. He also boxed a British eliminator fight so he’s showed how good he was.”
Khan has also recapped his burning desire to be given an opportunity for a world title shot in the very near future. “I want to be one of the youngest world champions ever and the way it’s going, things are going alright,” said the talented young prospect. His promoter Frank Warren said Khan’s next bout will be in December and is likely to be over eight rounds – but whether it will actually last that long is a different matter! It is almost definite that by this time next year Khan will be a title holder. Good luck!
Is it possible for Kahn to be the youngest British champion of the world?

Amir will definitely be a world champion but I think that he shouldn’t cocentrate on becoming the worlds youngest champion. He needs to learn his trade as an apprentice and work his way up and then he can concentrate on becoming world champion for the longest time and remain unbeaten for more fights than Rocky Marciano.

Definately! If he tries to become a world champion too soon he will ruin his chances and end up losing bouts. He will surely become a great champ but it will take time and he needs to be patient. But he is in great hands with Frank Warren.

Hello
I really like Amir Khan, but I think it’s too late for Khan to be the youngest world champion - he is now 20 years old, and had only 13 prof. fights. If he want to get a title fight, he must have about 20. And to be the youngest world champion he must only be 19 - to the start of 20 because the youngest man ever to win the world title in history of boxing is now “iron” Mike Tyson. He was 20 years.
So shot concluded: Amir Khan can’t be the youngest world champion :/
