Apparently, according to US boxing promoter Bob Arum, former heavyweight boxing champion, Lennox Lewis, may be returning to the ring.
Lewis retired in June 2003 after beating Vitali Klitschko, who also has recently announed a comeback.
According to an interview with Arum, “Lennox has been discussing the prospect of a one-off world title rematch with Klitschko. I am told Lennox is back in the gym. This is an enormous fight in the making.”
Top boxing promoter Frank Warren said, “I don’t think Lennox should come back. He has gone out on a high, he is very wealthy, and boxing is full of stories of guys who have made a comeback and ruined their legacy.
“Of course if he did come back it would be a big fight. People have been talking about it since Klitschko announced his comeback.
“But I would definitely prefer it for Lennox’s sake if he stayed away.”

I remember the Lewis-Klitschko fight in 2003 and Klitschko was well ahead on the scorecards. However a really bad cut above his left eye gave the victory to Lewis.

Update: Lennox Lewis now denies this rumours.
Lewis, 41, said on his website: “I have no idea how these rumours get started, but I’m a man of my word - I will remain retired.”
