Floyd Mayweather has released an onslaught of abuse at Ricky Hatton, calling him “fat garbage” and stating that he will punch Hatton in his big fat beer belly!
Whoa!
I guess the already mounting tension between these two fighters has been pushed to a new limit now.
In an interview with the BBC Mayweather said exactly want he thought of Ricky Hatton:
“Ricky Hatton ain’t nothing but a fat man. I’m going to punch him in his beer belly”
“He ain’t good enough to be my sparring partner. I’m retiring in America, that don’t mean I’m retiring in the UK.”
“When I retire, I’ll get Ricky Hatton to wash my clothes and cut my lawn and buckle my shoes”
“I’ve only seen Ricky Hatton fight one time and that was against Urango and he looked like garbage.
“All he can do is punch and hold, punch and hold and wrestle. It’s obvious that his fights are not more exciting than mine.
“And guess what? He said he was going to come to America and do 5,000 seats, but 5,000 people come and watch me train every day.
“Nobody even knows Ricky Hatton. He came over to America and nobody even came to see him fight.
“I could come to England and fill up the same stadium he can fill up. He ain’t getting money like me.
“When I retire, I’ll get Ricky Hatton to wash my clothes and cut my lawn and buckle my shoes.”
So what do you make of this?
Will Mayweather back up what he says, and fight and beat Hatton?

Chances are not extremly high as, a few things have to happen to make this fight possible.
Hatton must beat Castillio.
Mayweather must beat De La Hoya.
These are not easy fights for either boxer.
Then they will have to decide to fight each other, probably this time next year.
This will p*** Witter off even more as he still wants to fight Hatton, but the winner of this fight will be the best p4p fighter in the world in my opinion.

Jackson is right.
Often we see Hatton turn his boxing in into a “pub brawl fighter style” and that is not very entertaining as I can watch that without paying pay per view.
But would this work well against Mayweather or would Floyd’s superior boxing skill beat Ricky Hatton?

Punching and holding isnt that what Mayweathers career has been based on! Mayweather cant cope with the intensity of hatton, Hatton to win by knoickout if they ever fought!

I think that there is little doubt that Mayweather has the superior speed and boxing skill.
However Hatton’s tactics of “fighting” an opponent are very effective and a lot depends on whether Floyd can keep his cool and just box Hatton and not let Hatton inside.
If the fight turns into brawl then I think Hatton will demolish Mayweather. But if both of them box, or Mayweather keeps Hatton at bay and boxes him, then Floyd would win hands down.
We must not forget that Floyd Mayweather is a world champion at four different weights and is considered by many (including me) as the best pound for pound figther around today.
By the way, Boxing Daily is in the process of making sports betting avaliable on this site and it should be up and running by then end of the week so then you can all put your money where your mouth is!

Wes again, slating the british boxers as usual. Mayweathers a great don’t get me wrong but Hatton at his best and we have a great fight where both boxers can win. This is far more of an even fight then Kessler Calzaghe, of which Calzaghe would hands down outbox Kessler.

Mayweather will smoke Hattons boots-then get him to cut his lawn and buckle his shoes.Mayweather might not look as strong a puncher as Hatton,but he could knock him out.It won`t happen anyway cos Hatton can`t fight at welterweight let alone go in against a superior fighter who can very comfortably fight at the weight.Forget Mayweather Hatton,you would have NO chance beating this guy.

Hatton is going to punish Mayweather. Even if Mayweather outpoints him, he will never be the same fighter. Mayweather is about to have his body and head permanently damaged and he knows it. Mayweather isn’t that powerful at 140, his KOs are at 130. Hatton destroys people at 140.

I’m sick of egg shell fisted Floyd get on my Horse and ride Mayweather. I honestly will be glad to see him cry when he finally gets hit hard. He’s not but one hard punch to the gut or chin to start bringing him down off that horse of his or make the horse run even faster. I’m a born & bred true blue American and I pray Hatten beats the hell out of mayweather. If Mayweather starts acting like his fist are really hurting that means HE has taken a hard shot. If I was in the Hatten camp I would look at every aspect of Mayweathers tape up before the fight and make sure then hands are wrapped to rules. Not taped piled up across the knuckles. Both will make weight, Hatten will be close. But I’ll bet at fight time Hatten will have 16lb-24lbs on Mayweather. Hatten can walk around at 180lbs. And Hatten needs to try to make Mayweather hit the very top of his head as must as possible. Its the hardest part of your body. Old fighter used to tilt there head down for a couple oncoming punches and the opponent would break his hand on there heads. But he can only do this once in awhile because it leaves you open to a uppercut. But those Brits know all the tricks.

okay lets get it all out on the table yeah there’s all this talk about Mayweather who is in my opinion a big mouth and I really want to see him get beat and true that he has fought better fighters than Hatton but the fact of the matter is they are both undefeated, and you can say what you want about Hatton being a “nobody” but I didn’t even know who the hell this guy Hatton was until I seen him training on HBO this guy looks focused and determined and 43-0 come on thats hardwork, thats experience. I know it will come down to a decision, Hatton has to get a knockout or control the fight in order to win the decision for sure. Mayweather is fast omg we have seen that, but Hatton looks like he has been training hard and this will sure to be one of the greatest fights in a long time.

I’m a patriotic American, but Mayweather makes us look like arrogant, money crazy fools. I hope that Hatten breaks Mayweathers jaw (re: Norton/ Ali), punish him to the body for 9 rounds then knock this jerks teeth into the 5th row. Hatten has the power, good speed, but Floyd does have a speed advantage over him. If Hatten can take Floyd into the later rounds and do some good body work up to that point, he could very well K.O. Mayweather!
I’ll take Hatten via K.O. (the only way he can win) in rounds 9-11. I hope!
