Pacquiao paused ,as though it was news to him, when he was told of the betting odds for his David Diaz fight on the 28 June. Pacquiao was given -365 favourite to beat the world boxing council lightweight champion at Mandalay Bay.
On the other side, Diaz was given a +285, meaning that a £100 would pay out £285, whereas you would have to pay up £365 to win £100 on Pacquiao. A trusted ally of Pacquiao, promoter Wakee Salud, said that “Manny’s just too good to be listed as an underdog and boxing people believe Diaz’s aggressive style is tailor-made for him that’s why he is an overwhelming favourite,”. Salud was not surprised at Pacquiao’s favour, even with this being his first fight at 135 lb’s.
Pacquiao has not been listed as an underdog since his rematch with Erik Morales in January of 2006. His business manger in 2001 when he made his US debut was Rod Nazario, who remembers that when asking to put a bet on Pacquiao, he was told that there was not even a betting line for the fight against Lehlo Ledwaba for the International Boxing Federation throne. Pacquiao won by a knock-out in the sixth round.
This shows much how Pacquiao has moved up the ladder of skill and popularity. Pacquiao should soon be the World Boxing Council lightweight champion. If he is this much of a favourite, what more can you expect?
Who do you think will win this fight?
Should Pacquiao be this much of a favourite?

I supposed that Pacman`s detractors must place their faith to Diaz that way the odd can change. Diaz is the champ at Lightweight that means he has power.

the Boxing bookies must have felt the difference.
after this fight, should Pacman win in a very convincing fashion, the odds on his next fight will be even higher than this, even if he will climb again north to the next weight.
