
Manny Pacquiao has been voted as the fighter of the year by the Boxing Writers Association of America and his trainer, Freddie Roach, was named trainer of the year.
Pacquiao won three times last year and he managed to stop Eric Morales in two of his three wins. Roach was the corner man in all three of his fights.
Amoungst the other awards as fight of the year, which went to the 122-pound bout in France between Somsak Sithchatchawal and Mahyar Monshipour last March.
The great Muhammad Ali received the Pat Putnam Award for Perseverance. Other award winners included HBO’s Larry Merchant for long and meritorious service, and Showtime’s Steve Albert for broadcast excellence. Lee Samuels and Ricardo Jimenez, who are publicists for Top Rank shared the Marvin Kohn Good Guy award.
The awards will be presented at the 82nd BWAA annual dinner in June in New York.

i really admire him he such a fighter im proud to be a pilipino and i don’t missed every manny’s fight go pacquio
