A massive fifty five thousand boxing fans are going to be in the City of Manchester Stadium for the great Ricky Hatton’s comeback fight against Juan Lazcano.
Its really good to see a high profile boxer like Hatton rewarding his fans by making tickets for this fight relatively cheap (they cost less than a Manchester City football ticket). It is this attitude that is making Hitman Hatton a hero, up with the likes of Henry Cooper and Frank Bruno in the hearts of British boxing fans.

Today the Boxing Board of Control rejected Scott Harrison’s appeal to regain his boxing license. The board choose to continue his suspension until the end of this year.
Harrison lost his license after failing to fight Nicky Cook and he was therefore stripped of his WBO title (read more…)

You don’t really have a choice here, every boxer must use this competition standard equipment if they are to compete in official amateur boxing fights.

It looks as though we are probably going to see Roy Jones Jr as the next opponent for undefeated world super middleweight champion, Joe Calzaghe.
Whilst Roy Jones is no where near as good as he was at his prime, he still put in an impressive display against Felix Trinidad and so could provide a challenge for Joe Calzaghe.

The WBC, WBA and WBO world cruiserweight boxing champion. David Haye, has given up his title in order to step up to heavyweight.
Haye has told the WBC that he plans to fight in the heavyweight division and so has asked to be moved up one division in their ratings (read more…)
