Carl Johanneson is set to make a mandatory defence of his British Super Featherweight title against the 23 year from Scotland, Ricky Burns.
This fight will return championship boxing to the old and famous venue of Leeds Town Hall of Friday 9 February as local hero Carl Ingemar Johanneson puts his British Super Featherweight title on the line.
The fight is expected to be a classic one of fighter versus boxer or bull versus matador as these two very talented fighters go head to head.
Between them, Burns and Johanneson have lost only three bouts out of forty. This will be Burns’ second attempt to win a title and this is also Johanneson’s second title defence.
Previously, Ricky Burns lost on points over 12 rounds when attempting to get the European, British and Commonwealth Super Featherweight titles from his fellow Scot Alex Arthur.
This boxing event is being called “Enemy Invasion” by its promoter, Frank Maloney Promotions and will take place in Leeds, England and February 9th 2007.
If you cant get to the fight then it will be live on Sky TV so it may be worth a watch, simply for this fight.
What do you think of the upcoming fight between Carl Johanneson and Ricky Burns for British title?
