The former WBO featherweight champion, and British favourite, Scott Harrison is going to remain banned from the boxing ring after he did not appear in front of a British Boxing Tribunal on January 24th.
Scott Harrison was summoned to the court after he pulled out of his defence to Nicky Cook in December.
He did this on short notice as he had just finished a five week stint in jail in Spain and therefore was unable to make the weight for the fight.
The British Board of Boxing Control released this statement regarding Scott Harrison:
Despite confirmation of his attendance received from the office of his manager Barry Hughes, Harrison failed to appear before a tribunal of the stewards scheduled to take place at the board’s offices.
Accordingly his licence will remain suspended and he will not be permitted to take part in any boxing contest within the board’s jurisdiction until such time as the stewards permit him to do so.
What do you think of all this hassle around Scott Harrison?
How should it be resolved?
It needs to be resolved as quickly as possible in my opinion as Scott is one of Britain’s top boxers and all boxing fans in the UK want to see him get back into the ring.
