Travis Simms will step back into the ring after a two-year break to take on Jose Antonio Rivera for the WBA super welterweight title on the 6th of January.

The all-US fight is on the under-card of the heavyweight clash of Nigerian Samuel Peter and America’s boxing legend: James Toney. Simms grabbed the WBA title from Mexico’s Alejandro Garcia back in 2003 and defended it once before it was stripped in 2005 for failing to challenge Garcia a second time around (read more…)

Britain’s David Haye kept hold of his European cruiserweight title and set up a possible WBC championship bout when he stopped Giacobbe Fragomeni.

37-year-old Fragomeni seemed to be on the path for a victory after cutting Haye in round number six at London’s York Hall. However a wounded Haye radically broke down the Italian’s defences in the ninth round and ultimately floored him with the use of a quick outbreak of punches (read more…)

When European cruiserweight champion David Haye’s defends his title against Giacobbe Fragomeni it will be a final eliminator for the WBC title that is currently held by O’Neil Bell. 25-year-old Haye won his title when he knocked out Alexander Gurov back in December and has since defended his crown twice.

On the 17th of November Haye will be making his third title defence at the Bethnal Green’s York Hall.The 37-year-old Fragomeni, from Spain, has a 100% record with 21 fights and 21 triumphs, including the nine which did not go the distance, since he turned professional way back in 2001 (read more…)
