Calzaghe to fight Roy Jones, not Pavlik

Calzaghe has said that his future goal is targeted firmly on the former four-weight champion Roy Jones and not Pavlik, the world middle weight champion.
“There is some talk about me fighting Kelly (and) a lot of people would love to see it,” Calzaghe said. “However, at this point in time I think it’s unlikely to happen.

Pavlik Looking Past Lockett to Calzaghe

After Palvik disposed of the Welshman on Saturday Night in Atlantic city, it seems that a fight between Calzaghe and Kelly Palvik is very likely. Mundine Dropping Weight to face Calzaghe, Pavlik, Wright

Anthony Mundine has admitted that he needs to win high profile fights to make a name for himself in the boxing world.

Mundine defended his WBA super middleweight title successfully against Sam Soliman at Vodafone Arena on Wednesday night. Mundine won via a unanimous points decision as the judges scored the bout: 116-112, 116-112, 117-112.

Heavyweight Champion Samuel Peter To Fight Harrison or Skelton

In “The Sun” newspaper, boxing promoter Frank Warren announced that he has negotiated terms with Don King for Samuel Peter, the WBC Heavyweight Champion, to defend his title in the UK.

Joe Calzaghe vs Roy Jones Jr

It looks as though we are probably going to see Roy Jones Jr as the next opponent for undefeated world super middleweight champion, Joe Calzaghe.

Whilst Roy Jones is no where near as good as he was at his prime, he still put in an impressive display against Felix Trinidad and so could provide a challenge for Joe Calzaghe.

With no real challenges left for Kelly Pavlik at the middleweight level, it was obvious he was going to have to move up to super middleweight in order to get a decent fight.
