World super middleweight title holder Joe Calzaghe has been chosen as the British Boxer of the Year.
It is no surprise the Welshman was handed the honour at the British Boxing Board of Control awards ceremonial on Thursday in London.34-year-old Calzaghe was most likely to pick up the prize after he amalgamated the WBO and IBF titles by defeating previously triumphant American Jeff Lacy back in March.
