IBF heavyweight champion of the world, Wladimir Klitschko will make his first defence against American Calvin Brock on the 11th of November in New York. Recently, there had been rumours of a unification fight with Oleg Maskaev, who took the WBC title from Hasim Rahman last month.

But instead of this, the unbeaten Brock, 31, has at long last been given the prospect of winning a world title. He has had 29 bouts, winning 22, even though he has never stepped into the ring with a former world champion. “Calvin Brock is a very difficult opponent as his pro results and amateur career proves,” said the 30 year old Klitschko, who beat Chris Byrd in a seventh round stoppage to win the IBF belt last April. “I know he is a dangerous opponent and I will not under-estimate him (read more…)
