Khan to Fight Frenchman Drilzane

Britain’s Amir Khan is set to take on Frenchman Rachid Drilzane at London’s ExCel Arena on the 9th of December; a day before Kahn’s birthday. 19-year-old Khan said: “I have had a good look at Drilzane. He is not a bad fighter but I won’t let him ruin my birthday. This year has been pretty special, and it would be great to finish the way I started - with a first-round knockout.”

Khan will be appearing in his 10th professional bout against the 28-year-old Drilzane, who has won 10 fights out of his 13.Bolton boy Kahn, stopped Londoner Ryan Barrett in just 111 seconds of his bout prior to this which was back in September. Mitchell Wins Bloody Ashie Battle

Former ABA champion, Kevin Mitchell won the Commonwealth super featherweight title on Saturday evening with a well-deserved points triumph over Ghana’s tough George Ashie at London’s York Hall. It was the ABA featherweight victor’s 22nd win after he turned professional.

Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan has emerged in court to plead innocent to a charge of dangerous driving in his home town of Bolton.

19 year old Khan of Lostock in Bolton appeared before Bolton Magistrates’ Court where he denied charges which relate to an incident in Bradshawgate on the 2nd of March, when a man broke his leg after being hit by a car. Speedy Amir Khan thrilled his hometown crowd in Bolton with an extraordinary win over Ryan Barrett inside two minutes on Saturday night. The 19-year-old put Barrett to the floor with a spectacular straight right after just one minute.

The Thamesmead fighter was put on his bum two more times before the referee was certain that the bout needed to be stopped after just one minute and fifty-one seconds meaning Khan won has now won his ninth professional fight. “I was up for six rounds,” said Khan. “Ryan is fit and strong and he’s ranked a lot higher than me so it went well for me.” The super strong Khan then added: “He’s only lost two out of 15. Amir Khan is due to take on Ryan Barrett this Saturday at the Bolton Arena. It will be his ninth professional bout and his last over six rounds. Khan says he hopes to make quick progress from here - and fight for a world title before too long.
