The Mayweather-De La Hoya rematch on the 20 September was cancelled when Mayweather announced his retirement. The effects of this fight cancellation means that De La Hoya will only be fighting once more before retiring himself. It seems Ricky Hatton will not be fighting Oscar De La Hoya. De La Hoya was going to fight Mayweather before his retirement announcement, the fight was set for the 20 September.
