Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan has emerged in court to plead innocent to a charge of dangerous driving in his home town of Bolton.

19 year old Khan of Lostock in Bolton appeared before Bolton Magistrates’ Court where he denied charges which relate to an incident in Bradshawgate on the 2nd of March, when a man broke his leg after being hit by a car. Joe Calzaghe claims he will not allow gossip about a British showdown with Clinton Woods to sidetrack him from the defence of his super middleweight titles in October. Calzaghe is to defend his WBO and IBF belts against Cameroon’s Sakio Bika in Manchester on the 14th of October.

Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali was originally born as Cassius Clay in 1942 in Louisville Kentucky. The colourful and controversial Clay began taking boxing lessons when he was twelve years old after his bike was stolen. As a high school student, he won the national Golden Gloves middleweight championship in 1959 and 1960 and the AAU national light heavyweight title in 1960, then went on to a gold medal in the Olympic light heavyweight division.
