St. Louisan Cory Spinks, son of the former heavyweight boxer, Leon Spinks, defended his IBF junior middleweight title on Saturday night by unanimously outpointing Rodney Jones.
Cory Spinks has an impressive record of (36-3) and won nine rounds on one judge’s card and all 12 on the other two, however the crowd did not get the see any knock-downs.
Spinks said: “He’s a long, rangy guy so I had to outsmart him, I used my athletic talent and smarts to win.”
Rodney Jones, 38, was the IBF’s number one challenger for the title, but this was the first time that he had fought in nearly a year as he boxing record dropped to 37-4-1.
After the fight Rodney Jones said: “I was trying to box with him a little bit and tried to hit him with the left hand, I tried to get in on him, but I couldn’t.”
What do you make of Spinks’ victory over Jones?

I feel that Corey deserves a big money fight before his time is up in the sport. This guy has been through so much in the sports and his personal life with his wife. He needs to enjoy life with a money fight, so he can secure a future after he retire.

Fair enough, I would agree with that, but who can he fight for some big money?
