Clinton Woods has promised to ruin Joe Calzaghe’s plans when he defends his IBF light heavyweight title against Jamaican Glen Johnson in Bolton on Saturday night.
Calzaghe has said he wants Johnson to win to set up a profitable fight between them next year. “It is doing my head in that all people are talking about is Calzaghe,” said Woods. “They are conjuring up these little plans, and when I reverse them I will have the biggest smile on my face. I know I am number one in the world but everybody is still talking about Johnson being the best,” added Woods. “This is without doubt the biggest fight of my career and it would be my biggest win. Certain people think this fight is wrapped up already and I can’t wait to prove everybody wrong.” Woods has a 3lbs weight advantage over Johnson in Saturdays contest after weighing in at 175lbs at Friday’s weigh-in. Calzaghe plans to return to the ring against Cameroon’s Sakio Bika next month in Manchester and his promoter Frank Warren has been working on a major fight early next year for him.

Robin Reid beat Calzaghe in the 12 rounder no sweat!
Why was the ref hassling Reid all the time and not Calzaghe? Was he on the payroll? I notice that Cal wasn’t goofing or making silly faces at Reid throughout the fight otherwise he would have been floored somewhat quickly.
No rematch? Of course not. Cals supposed unblemished record would be on the cards because Reid would win as he did last time! Is this why such a paltry sum was initially offered -to keep Reid at bay?
Calzaghie is definately not invincable as Reid proved as he would not be intimidated by Calzaghie’s arrogant nonsense.
Let them have a rematch if Calzaghies’ camp dare!!
